Maggie Alexander leads a double life. In her day job, she uses her academic background and training in neuroscience to run a medical charity specialising in disorders of the brain and spine. For the past twenty-five years, when not at work, Maggie has been involved in music (as a singer, flute and guitar player in rock bands, early music choirs, jazz bands and vocal jazz groups, including the all-girl trio, Magenta and the London-based vocal jazz ensemble, Take Twenty). When she met Robert Webb in 2002 at the Mediterranean Jazz Summer School in the South of France, she never imagined that a casual conversation about her production and publishing experience would lead to the setting up of Garden Shed Music with Robert, just two years later, nor that she would be managing the band and singing with them when they reformed in 2005.
