Last of the Jubblies??
Hi Robert et al Finally got hold of "Garden Shed" as a CD this week. Sorry, I didn't know about this site until after I'd ordered the disc. However, what is Last of the Jubblies? I know I've bee out of touch for a while, but I've never heard of it 'til I found this site. Just so's you know, I think Garden Shed is one of my top 5 favourite recordings ever, (I've had the vinyl for 30 years)and if you ever play any more live dates in England, I shall be there! Funny, though... if I mention the band everyone I've met just looks blank and asks "who?". Sad. Best Wishes Mike A

Gigs in the UK in 2007: We hope to. We're prepared to. We're still looking for a reasonable opportunity to. Re: Frank Holland. Yes, Frank chose Franc as the spelling of his name in '77. I think he's now using Frank for his solo project and for the work he's done as guitarist with The Pretty Things. Re: Jode's snare drum sound. Many people ask about Jode's snare sound (Jode, if you're reading this message please write in!). But I can say this, Jode always tinkered with/experimented with all sorts of sounds (he's made many recordings of great keyboard-based ideas). When we recorded Garden Shed the snare sound was the sound he wanted, he'd been fine tuning this type of snare sound for some years. On one day in Air Studios he spent a considerable amount of time trying to get the snare to sound right, but failed. The next morning he came in and took the whole snare drum to pieces, letting fresh air into the drum, when he put it back together, it came alive again. I think we were recording Nanogram. Re: Tommy. Thanks for the complement on Mid Mad. Re new recordings: there are plans for a new material 'studio' CD, but it could be a while yet. Re: Howard. The Live In Japan: Kikimimi CD is the real thing. We worked hard to mix the CD for 'Strange Days' and the Japanese market (the Japanese have given incredible support to the band). They have the rights to sell what is essentially their recordings (you have to buy it as an import). But also, we have negotiated with them to release our own mix of some of the recordings for the UK/European market. We will make this 'UK version' CD available later in 2007, HERE ON THIS WEBSITE. It will differ from the Japanese production. With thanks to all those supporting us. Robert Webb

England Live in Japan Kikimimi
Is this live album a bootleg or the real thing. Apears to be a Japanese release only. Is there any risk that this will become available in the UK? Lastly, is Grand Hotel still available in any form? Cheers Howard (I met Bob in 1970 something hoping to get as far as an audition as the England bassman. He actually came to my house.Obviously didn't make an impression!..but that's life. Still love England music.

New Album?
Will there ever be a new album? I got three copies of your LP and two on CD. I know it is insane but in case one of them breakes I need to have back-up. I can not live without listening to Midnight Madness. It has to be the ultimate symphonic rock song ever made. Has all the classic ingrediences of a great song. So, hope you are in the studio making another classic symphonic album which will launch you on a world wide tour. That is my dream. Love Tommy

Looking fwd to listening to the new CD.... the one from Korea (c1997) and my dear old vinyl lp are both worn out through overplaying!! Cheers Simon

Perfect Vinyl!
Kids asleep, the wife's out, time to listen to some music in peace- a rare treat. What haven't I listened to for a long (long) time? I've still got Garden Shed on vinyl, fire up the LP12 , warm up the Naims. Pour out a single malt and wallow in two sides of perfect, analogue keyboard driven nostalgia. Just found the web site - planning any more gigs in the UK? Is it Frank Holland - it's Franc on the original album. Why did Jode never find the "on" lever for the strainer on his snare? A new album in 2006? Finger's crossed. If you do the 29 years between album's will make the Blue Nile's output look prolific in response!

Poisoned Youth
Just to say that having heard Poisoned Youth for the first time in 1982, having had a copy on tape for years and then a new CD copy for the past couple of years it remains an absolute classic. Glad to hear you are back in action.
